The illustration I created for the campaign around this Christmas-themed performance is probably the piece I’m most proud of this year. When my boss sat down with me to share his vision of what the performance would be, I immediately had an idea to create some kind of candle illustration with a lot of depth and texture and a rich color palette. I wanted to communicate some of the mystery and beauty of the performance, and allude to the setting—a gorgeous one-hundred year old Presbyterian church near Capitol Hill.
Creating the illustration took time, but was so worth it. It was a huge hit. My boss and the headmaster liked it so much they asked if it could be repurposed for the school Christmas Card.
